Operative dentistry
Operative dentistry regroups all obturations that allow the restoration of damaged teeth the restoration of damaged teeth due to dental cavities, wear or fractures. There are white restaurations made of composites or ceramic material. And finally gray restorations in amalgam.
At home teeth whitening
With the use of custom-made whitening trays, at-home teeth whitening is the most efficient and stable way to whiten teeth. With this technique, a natural lightening of the teeth occurs.
Implants
When one or many teeth are missing, they can be replaced with an artificial titanium root called a dental implant. A dental implant is what comes closest to a natural tooth. We refer the surgical placement of the implant to our surgeon’s office. The prosthetic component, be it a crown on implant or a bridge on implant, is then done at our office.
Night guard
The Night Guard is an appliance that is worn during the night when we grind or clench our teeth. This appliance helps protect the teeth and associated bone and gum from the effects of these parafonctions.
Gingival grafts
Gingival recession or receding gums is caused by traumatic brushing or gingival inflammation. Once these causes have been corrected, a gingival graft can be performed. The gingival graft has generally two objectives: add an adequate amount of keratinised tissue around the tooth and cover the root.
Periodontal disease treatment
Periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease, is a chronic and usually painless disease. It is an inflammation of the gingiva due to the accumulation of different bacterias and tartar under the gum. If not treated, this inflammation leads to bone loss around the teeth. We provide the treatment under local anesthesia. The teeth are scaled using ultrasounds and scalers. This eliminates the tartar and bacteria which then decreases the gingival inflammation. Bone loss as a result ceases around the teeth.
Intravenous sedation
Intravenous sedation is the state of reduced consciousness due to the administration of a sedative. This results in comfort and relaxation for the patient during a dental procedure. In the relaxed state, the patient is capable of communication with the dentist during the procedure. The IV sedation is safe, efficient and disappears completely after the dental visit. It is used mainly for the extraction of wisdom teeth.
Soft tissue laser
This technology uses a strong light available at varying powers and wavelengths. It could be used for minor procedures that would otherwise be performed using electrosurgery or a scalpel. Laser dentistry is a gentler form of surgery
Dental extractions
A tooth is extracted when there is no other option available with a good prognosis. The dentist chooses this option as a last resort. At adolescence, the third molars commonly called wisdom teeth start to erupt. The age at which they actually come out varies from one person to another. Some people can naturally have one or many missing wisdom teeth. If there is enough space for eruption, these teeth do not need to be removed. However, a lot of people lack space for them. In these cases, the wisdom teeth may not fully erupt and stay partially impacted in the bone and gum tissue. This makes it impossible to clean and increases the risk of forming dental caries or a gingival infection in the area. A tooth that stays impacted in the bone has a higher risk of forming a cyst or tumor. A thorough dental examination is essential to prevent complications related to these molars.
